Homelessness is complicated. It's an issue no single organization can solve on its own. It requires the entire community working together to address it effectively. We believe that together, we can end homelessness in OKC.
In order to eradicate long-term homelessness in Oklahoma City, we will work to strengthen the community's capacity by partnering with other organizations, locating and addressing service gaps for the homeless, introducing nationally recognized best practices to the area, and constructing a more effective, sensible, and compassionate system.
Homeless Has A Name mission is to rally our community to end homelessness.
Collaboration
Nimbleness
Concerned with Oklahoma City's disjointed system of care for the homeless, a group of community volunteers founded Homeless Has A Name. These volunteers investigated the tactics used by other communities that have effectively incorporated coordinated systems. One of the initial endeavours of Homeless Has A Name, following its founding with a solitary employee in a rented office situated in the Capitol Hill district of Oklahoma City, involved calling meetings for the directors of the area's overnight shelters. After that, Homeless Has A Name carried out an evaluation of the community's needs to find any service gaps and got to work filling them. The group then created a software program to monitor information around the neighborhood in order to tackle homelessness from a more calculated angle.
Homeless Has A Name is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Donations and contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law.
